The Alzheimer's Society International between England and Belgium was staged at Wembley Stadium

We have today announced a new one-year extension to our charity partnership with Alzheimer's Society for the 2025-26 season.

As part of the new extension, the England men’s senior fixture against Wales on Thursday 9 October 2025 will be an Alzhemier’s Society International.

The match at Wembley Stadium connected by EE will be the fourth international across men’s and women’s teams to support Alzhemier’s Society as our official charity partner.

The announcement also celebrates the news that our successful collaboration with Alzhemier’s Society is being extended into a fifth year, through to July 2026.

Alzheimer’s Society became our official charity partner in August 2021, and together we have raised over £1 million to help fund their ground-breaking research, as well as creating important awareness of where people can go to access vital dementia support.

One in three people born today will go on to develop dementia in their lifetime. It’s the UK’s biggest killer, but too many people still think dementia is just a sign of normal ageing, are unsure of the symptoms and are too afraid to visit their GP. A timely diagnosis can allow families more time to plan for the future and unlock the door to treatment, care and support.

The Alzheimer's Society and the FA have extended their charity partnership for a fifth year

Mark Bullingham, FA Chief Executive, said: "We are delighted to extend our successful charity partnership with Alzheimer’s Society for a fifth consecutive year. We have achieved so much together over the last four years by using the power of football to raise an incredible £1 million during that time – which has directly helped to fund vital research and support.

“As part of our renewed commitment for the 2025-26 season, we are proud to announce that our senior men’s match between England and Wales at Wembley Stadium on Thursday 9 October will be our dedicated Alzheimer’s Society International."

Kate Lee, CEO of Alzheimer’s Society, added: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be extending our vital partnership with the FA. Football has an incredible ability to bring people together, and over the past four years, this partnership has helped shine a light on the realities of dementia while raising over £1 million for life-changing support and research.

“The Alzheimer’s Society International at Wembley in October will be another powerful opportunity for us to raise awareness and encourage people to seek a diagnosis and support if they’re worried about dementia. We’re so grateful to the FA and to football fans across the country for standing with us and helping to make a real difference to people affected by dementia.”
